Hi Group Three!

I'm really happy with the email I just received from Alison, I thought I might share it with you:

Hey John,

This kids were great today as we carved our “cement” (plaster with sand). They even helped clean up.

There were a few goofy moments and a few needed some direction, but overall, it was much better class than usual.

Cheers!

Alison

It sounds like there's been a real change, and I'm proud of all of you....now if we can just work on those "goofy moments"....

Just a few reminders. If you are planning on ordering books from Scholastic, make sure your order forms are in Laurie's hands tomorrow! Also, if you have accepted the 6 hours of reading for a 6 Flags ticket, those contracts need to be completed and turned in on Monday.

Also, thanks for keeping the room, and hall looking good for our open house!

See you tomorrow,

John

Hi Group Three,

I heard you guys and girls had a good afternoon with Pam today. Glad to hear it. As I was passing back your spelling tests today (along with recording your grades) I noticed a few of you of were slipping on your spelling grades. But- I also saw a few people who really made a change for the better. Nice job for those who have been really putting forth the effort, and those of you (and you know who you are!) who slipped last week, please remember that your spelling and Wordly Wise count as a good part of your writing grade.

I will change our classroom jobs tomorrow- I'm sorry we didn't get to it today!

See you then,

John

You Can't Always Get What You Want....

...but if you try some times, you get what you need.

Does anyone know who said that? Your parents might!

Hi Group Three.

First off- thanks for a great art class today! I spoke to Alison and she said it was HUGE improvement from last week. Wow, a great Latin class with Joseph, and a great art class with Alison? Nice work!

I just wanted to mention a few things about our new seating arrangement. I know some of you are thrilled and some of you aren't so happy with the new seats. You know me, nothing is ever permanent, I may change things around tomorrow. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll adapt to your new arrangement and you'll be thinking of them as your "regular seats" soon enough.

Get started on your 6 Flags reading tonight!

See you tomorrow,

John

Yes? S'no? Maybe?

Well, it looks like the meteorologists are making up for their snow blunder last week! It's really coming down right now. I hope all of you make it home safely today, and get a chance to play outside when you get home!

We have a little over two weeks left before our March vacation, and I'm really hoping to see some great things from Group 3. I know you lost all three of your stars today, but I'm thinking maybe that'll be a reminder to work extra hard tomorrow to keep all three. Good luck, I know you can do it!

Stay warm, stay dry!

Hi Group Three,

I hope everyone got home safe and sound today and the snow hasn't made things too difficult! Please remember that if Danvers Public Schools have a delay- we will have a full snow day. So keep an eye on those school closings.

If I don't see you until Friday, please keep up with your math and reading. Do some each night. Remember to bring snow clothes for the major merit even on Friday- sledding!

Enjoy the weather, help shovel!

Hi Group Three!

I hope you enjoyed your super long weekend. I know some of you were able to get out and do some fun stuff. Ben skied at Waterville....David and Zoe had a sleep-over. Fun!

We have a regular school week this week. Hopefully, if it snows later in the week, we'll be able to finally have our Major Merit Event- which is sledding on Wheatlan's Hill in Topsfield. So, keep your fingers crossed.

As we mentioned at morning meeting, if you would like to do valentines this Friday, please have one for everyone in class. We'll also be celebrating "UN-birthdays" this Friday for people (like your teacher and Davey who have the same birthday!) who have birthdays over vacations. There will be cake for those who want it. If cake is not something you're interested in, please feel free to bring in an extra snack or dessert for yourself.

Have a great night!

Take A Breather!

Hi Group Three,

I hope you enjoy your extra long weekend. I'm looking forward to talking to you parents tomorrow at our conferences.

I would like to remind you to think about some of the things Joseph mentioned in Latin today about being kind to one another, not being rude, and making good choices. You are all part of a team here in Group Three, and I want you to remember to respect your team mates! :)

I'll see you on Monday the 8th.

Back to Blog

Hi Group Three!

Apparently my last couple of blog entries did not get published. My apologies, and thanks to those of you who let me know. It's nice to know there are people keeping up with the blog!

Remember, we have a three day week this week. Thursday is parent conferences, and Friday is a teacher development day. I hope you enjoy your extra-long weekend.

Please remember to get rest, wash your hands, and keep your energy up- as you know, your ever-resilient teacher even got sick last week! (thanks for being great for Lauren while I was gone)

Take care,

John
